---------

Cares far more about the people than the rules. Lives in the moment, and romantically he forms very short term sexual relationships. Trusts few, used to relying on a very small number of people, but when he does form a familial attachment it means a great deal to him. Very calm in the face of danger and trouble, outstanding liar, sucks at sales pitching though. Easily bored when things are quiet, doesn’t so much look for trouble since his SF training days, but will welcome it with open arms given half a chance.

Personal History Born on Dalia Station to one of the working ladies bound to Khalexis Jin’s organisation. Grew up around said ladies and the station’s nefarious activities. Never knew who his father was and gave up asking when he was old enough to realise how things worked from his mother’s point of view. Men from outside the family were simply tools to be used, taken financial and political advantage of.

USS Odyssey with his father (Bear Jasper) revisited Dalia Station in 2389 on an undercover mission when Fox was just 11 years old. At this time, Fox was not aware that Bear was his father.

Farmed out to a variety of menial but illegal activities on a fetch-and-carry, do-what-you’re-told basis from an early age. Firstly on Dalia and then when he was 10-11 further afield as he graduated to learning to pilot small craft. Smuggling, transporting, courier work, supporting the main vessels with a back-up/distraction/escape route, he worked whatever job he was pointed at, the stars his training ground. As he grew older, bigger and stronger, he was drafted in on rescue missions when things inevitably went wrong with the less than perfect spacecraft being utilised.

Developed a great working partnership with his more technical engineering partner in crime (Pietra - a daughter of the same conclave back on Dalia). Out on the frontiers in multiple quadrants the two started freelancing on their own doing rescue missions outside of Federation space in a mid-sized, modified-with-each-favour-owed, civilian craft.

Earning a decent living working on credit and reputation this saw him through to his later teenage years when the duo wandered further afield still, pushing boundaries with a small (4 person) crew on a working transport ship.

It was when they aided a stranded/wounded Federation shuttle that Fox’s world shifted big-time. The pilot - one Mason Dekker (42) - had sustained a head injury and kept calling him ‘Bear’. On taking the man and his 17yr old son back to the nearest outpost, Fox stuck around, curious about the ramblings and then hooked on tales of his apparent father.

With Mason all healed up and having shared many (edited) stories of Bear Jasper’s exploits with the USS Odyssey and ensuing exploration, Fox found himself unable to leave. Exhausted and feeling that tie to his lost father, Fox headed back into more civilised Federation space with Dekker and his children (Jacob 17 and Casey 14).

The following year Fox joined Starfleet Academy, sponsored and supported by Mason in perceived repayment for his rescue.

Already skilled at flying junkers and modified freighters, shuttles and such, Fox now had to learn the ‘proper’ way to navigate and fly larger, far fancier Federation ships. He had a tumultuous time at the Academy, struggling to fit in with all the ettiquette and rules, while at the same time thrown wholeheartedly into sampling everything Earth had to offer. Yet always he was being driven through trouble by the need to seek out his father.

He eventually squeaked through with a few warnings on his record and more lady friends than commendations. His saving grace being his attitude to stubbornly figure out a way through the very worst situations. This along with a pointed refusal to give up on the workload whatever it might be, saw him through to graduation.

Since then he’s been proving himself back in the field, serving as Support Craft Officer on his first mission and impressing enough to gain a promotion to Flight Control Officer on his second ship assignment. That second ship brought him a post alongside Mason’s daughter, (Casey Dekker now 20) who served as a communications officer.

His heart still lies with search and rescue out in the wilder parts of space, but he’s determined to locate his father while exploring as widely as possible.
